Is a photograph just surface? Or can it penetrate deeper? Can it convey texture and layers of meaning?

Oh, these are lovely.
Fantastic pictures! I love the theme and how its been interpreted in so many different ways. 🙂
Great images, and those are deep questions. I suppose if images relate to our memories and experiences, if they echo and evoke a response within us then yes, they are more than just surface. Maybe?? Now you’ve got me thinking…
totally agree Steve with your comment. Glad I got you thinking I don’t know why it’s been on my mind a lot recently!
the beach surface really is the perfect picture when a hard working day comes to an end, so relaxing…
Oh yes would definitely agree with that! I love the beach!
I hope an images can convey layers of meaning, because most of mine are dripping with them. It’s probably not always obvious, though.
Lovely images, Emily.
I think they can, but that’s the thing… it’s not always obvious and it is harder to do with photography. I think you achieve this well though. I love your images and writing – I’m very much enjoying following your blog!
